On 11 December 2025, in Brussels, at the premises of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), the Annual Policy Forum organized by the European Vocational Training Association (EVTA) was held under the theme:
“Building Sustainable Vocational Education and Training Ecosystems for the Future: Priorities of the New EU Vocational Education Strategy.”
The forum featured Giorgi Gabedava, International Relations Specialist at Makhinjauri Maritime School, as a speaker, representing the institution.
In his address, Giorgi Gabedava emphasized the importance of social inclusion in vocational education, highlighting the need to increase access to vocational education for vulnerable groups, prevent early dropout, and strengthen support mechanisms. These issues were discussed as key determinants of the sustainability of vocational education systems, labor market integration, and social equity.
The event brought together vocational education institutions, social partners, employers, students, youth organizations, and policy makers from various European countries. The forum serves as an important platform for the exchange of practical experience and the presentation of policy recommendations to be considered in the development of the new EU vocational education strategy.
Discussions also addressed how vocational education can become more flexible, innovative, and inclusive, how it can better prepare for the green and digital transitions, and how to enhance its attractiveness and long-term impact across Europe.
Participation in this policy forum once again underscores Makhinjauri Maritime School’s active engagement in shaping European education policy and its commitment to European values and the advancement of modern vocational education and training.
