On 26 November 2025, a public lecture titled “The Maritime Labour Convention: International Maritime Minimum Standards for Seafarers” was held at the Makhinjauri Maritime School.

The lecture was delivered by Mariam Jaqeli, a legal specialist invited from Batumi Navigation University, who introduced the attendees to the significance of the Convention for shipowners and seafarers. She also presented information on international standards, current practices, and the key issues that directly affect seafarers’ working conditions and overall well-being.

The event was attended by students and vocational trainees of the Makhinjauri Maritime School. The lecture was organized at the initiative of the Makhinjauri Maritime School Library.
